Frequently asked questions

Common questions about FBA, FBM, fulfillment and international shipping.

1. What is FBA and what are its benefits?

FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon) lets sellers store goods in Amazon warehouses; Amazon handles packing, shipping and customer service. Benefits include saved time, access to Prime customers and fast delivery.

2. What is FBM and how do I manage shipping with it?

FBM (Fulfillment by Merchant) means the seller manages storage, packing and shipping directly to customers. Doing it well requires a professional warehouse, reliable carriers and close order tracking.

3. What is the main difference between FBA and FBM?

It comes down to who handles warehousing and shipping. With FBA, Amazon manages the whole process; with FBM, the seller handles everything from storage to delivery.

4. What is relabeling and when is it needed?

Relabeling means replacing or correcting product labels before goods go to customers or a warehouse. It is needed when labels are wrong, information must change, or inventory moves to another account or brand.

5. What is fulfillment and why does it matter in e-commerce?

Fulfillment is the whole process from order to delivery: storage, packing, shipping and customer care. It directly affects customer satisfaction and your operating efficiency.

6. Does choosing the right fulfillment warehouse matter?

Yes. A warehouse close to your main customers lowers shipping costs and speeds up delivery. It must also handle your volume and offer good support.

AWE Logistics runs modern warehouses with smart inventory management and 24/7 support, so your goods are always handled quickly and efficiently.

7. How can I reduce shipping costs with FBM?

Work with cost-effective carriers, negotiate rates, pack efficiently to reduce weight and size, and use marketplace shipping discounts.

AWE Logistics supports you end to end, from shipping to packing optimization, helping you cut costs and run more efficiently.

8. Why use a third-party fulfillment provider instead of doing it yourself?

You offload storage and shipping, benefit from the provider’s expertise and technology, scale more easily and give customers a better experience through professional operations.

9. What shipping modes are available?

The three most common are:

  • Express: by air, very fast but expensive – for urgent or high-value goods.
  • Air Cargo: cheaper than Express but slower – for light goods.
  • Sea Freight: lowest cost, longest transit – for heavy, bulky or large-volume goods.
10. How is volumetric weight calculated?

Volumetric weight is based on parcel dimensions in cm:

  • Express: L × W × H / 5000
  • Air Cargo: L × W × H / 6000
  • Sea Freight: L × W × H / 6000

You are charged on whichever is greater: actual or volumetric weight. If it feels complicated, contact AWE and we will recommend the best option.
